Miles Ramer, a senior at Ravenwood High in Tennessee who has verbally committed to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, joins Dyestat's Todd Grasley to discuss competing Sept. 30 at the Nike XC Town Twilight at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. Ramer finished second Sept. 16 in the 5-kilometer championship race in 14:39.5 at the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala. He reflects on missing the majority of the fall season last year, along with returning to competition during the track schedule, and how instrumental the guidance and support of Ravenwood coach Pete Mueller has been for him. Ramer also speaks about his decision to attend Tennessee and the opportunity to learn from Volunteers coach Sean Carlson and to be part of a recruiting class that also includes Jake Liebert from Wando High in South Carolina, Ethan Edgeworth of Cold Springs in Alabama and Will Conway from Floyd Central in Indiana. Ramer also looks forward to the postseason schedule and examines his racing opportunities following the Tennessee Class AAA state meet.
